Re-signing Brook Lopez

Shortly after Middleton had agreed to re-sign, the Milwaukee Bucks also struck a deal to keep their three-point marksman, and rim-protecting big, Brook Lopez, on a four year $52 million deal.

Retaining Lopez was a huge win for the team. Lopez was essential to much of what made the Bucks’ system work on both ends of the floor last year.

With him staying in the fold, Milwaukee ensured that four of their starting five guys from their 60-win roster last season would be coming back in 2019-20, giving the team a great deal of stability in a summer where much of the rest of the league changed.

Even if the four years he signed for may be a risk given his injury issues in the past, the Bucks did really well to keep him, especially on such a favorable annual salary.
