Shooting Guard: Malcolm Brogdon

Seasons: 3

Averages: 12.8 points 3.5 rebounds 3.6 assists (48.4 FG%; 40.8 3PT%)

Awards: NBA Rookie of the Year (2017)

Malcolm Brogdon is the perfect low-usage, high efficiency sort of player you want on a team full of ball-handling scorers. Brogdon has been proving his doubters wrong since the day he was drafted, having been passed on 35 times before his number was called. Incredibly, by the end of his rookie season, he had transitioned from a second round, bit part player to the starting point guard, and won Rookie of the Year honors in the process.

Brogdon has improved every year since to where last year, he started all 64 regular season games he played in and averaged 15.6 points, while shooting 42.6 percent from deep. Some will dispute Brogdon’s importance due to the lack of volume on his numbers but when you have played next to a perennial MVP candidate your entire career, high-volume usage is not always the ideal.

Brogdon fits seamlessly on to this team as a career 41 percent three-point shooter who has shown in the past, a willingness and ability to perform under serious pressure. Brogdon’s loss will be felt this season but his presence is certainly a bonus on this All-Decade team.
