Khris Middleton came to Milwaukee as a throw in piece in the Knight-Jennings trade. He will likely leave with a jersey retirement as one of the greatest players to ever play for the Bucks. Middleton’s story is one of true resolve and belief, having built himself up as a second rounder who spent his entire rookie season benched on an ordinary Detroit Pistons team.
Last season’s All-Star berth was truly deserved as the forward out of Texas A&M produced his best, most efficient season in the NBA to date. Middleton is not every Bucks fan’s cup of tea and many eyebrows were raised at the 5-year, $178 million deal he signed on the opening day of free agency this summer.
But he is an undoubted All-Star in the East and is one of the very best fits next to Giannis Antetokounmpo as the Bucks attempt to challenge for a title in the next decade. Middleton is a great playmaker and his presence off the ball is essential in creating room for Giannis to work, making him an ideal teammate both today, and in this All-Decade team for the Bucks.
