Power Forward: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Seasons: 6

Averages: 18.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists (52.1 FG%; 27.7 3PT%)

Awards: NBA MVP (2019), All-NBA First Team (2019); All-NBA Second Team (2017, 2018), All-Defensive First Team (2019); All-Defensive Second Team (2017), All Star (2017-2019).

The out and out leader of this All Decade team is Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is arguably the second best player to ever play in Milwaukee and has every chance to go one better by the time he finishes his career. After being drafted 15th overall in 2013 and being labeled as being two years away from contributing anything at all, the Greek Freak surpassed every expectation and become the force he is today.

Antetokounmpo can score at will, rebound at an elite level, and create like a point guard as a seven footer. He’d be a walking triple-double if scoring didn’t come so easy for him, as he often chooses to drive and finish over finding an open teammate, simply because he can.

Every season Antetokounmpo has improved, culminating in last season’s MVP selection, holding off Houston’s James Harden who posted historically good offensive numbers. In a league full of trades and free agent movement, Antetokounmpo is arguably the only truly untouchable player on any roster, showing his true worth to Milwaukee.

He was the first player selected on this All-Decade team and quite frankly, should be the first player selected on the next decade’s team as well, save for unforeseeable circumstances. Antetokounmpo’s presence on this team ensures the competitiveness it would play with if it were to come up against any other team of this decade.
