Milwaukee Bucks: Selecting an All-Decade roster

Andrew Bogut was selected first overall in 2005 but for the sake of this list, only his performances post 2009 can be included. Luckily for Bogut, his 2009-10 season was his undisputed best in the league, culminating in an All-NBA selection. That season, he combined with rookie sensation Brandon Jennings to lead the Bucks to 46 wins, their second highest total of this entire decade.
Unfortunately for Bogut and the Bucks, the entire trajectory of the franchise flipped on a dime that season as Bogut dislocated his elbow in one of the most gruesome injuries in Bucks history. An up and coming team was thrown into disarray as Milwaukee scrambled to cover Bogut’s loss as he never fully recovered from that injury, culminating in his being traded for Monta Ellis in 2012.
In his prime, however, Bogut was a supreme defender, pick-and-roll threat and even had the ability to pass, making him an all-around threat every night. His play on the Golden State Warriors post-trade proved what a huge loss Bogut was to Milwaukee as he helped them to win their first title of the modern era in 2015.
While it’s true Bogut never fully lived up the hype which saw him selected first overall, he was still an excellent center for Milwaukee and more than justifies his selection on this All-Decade team as the starting center. A prime Antetokounmpo/Bogut pick-and-roll and rim defending combo is the stuff Bucks fans could only dream of.
