11. Sterling Brown – 2K20 Rating: 73
With a 73 rating, there’s certainly a case to be made that Sterling Brown should have a higher rating. After all, Brown filled in capably on a 60-win team that didn’t miss a beat without Malcolm Brogdon down the stretch of the regular season, and even performed well in the Bucks’ first round sweep of the Pistons.
Still, that rating shouldn’t be taken as evidence of any kind of failure on the part of the good folks at 2K to recognize Sterling’s progression in recent years.
Brown started last season’s game severely underrated as a 70 overall. Even as his role and production expanded and kicked on, he never exceeded a 71 rating in 2K19. In that regard, a two point jump in between releases is notable and certainly not all that common.
In terms of areas for obvious improvement, although Brown’s 3PT rating of 79 is pretty stellar, his marksmanship from the corners last season would certainly suggest scope for that to ratchet up toward the higher marks on the roster over the course of the season.
