Training camp storylines
The NBA preseason gives players who aren’t necessarily guaranteed regular playing time or even a spot on the opening night roster time to shine in order to fight for those very things going into the regular season.
And it’s through that lens that will be paying attention some of the pieces at the end of the Bucks’ roster, as well as training camp invitees, as they look to make their mark when the Bucks take on the Jazz.
Players like Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Dragan Bender and two-way player Frank Mason III all put together solid to strong outings against the Bulls earlier in the week and they will all surely look to build on their fine starts to the preseason and the year overall.
Second-year guard Donte DiVincenzo saw the floor for his first taste of action in roughly seven months, but there’s a lot he will have to clean up as his poor shooting (1-of-8 from the field, 1-of-5 from three) and sloppy ball handling (one assist, four turnovers) indicate.
And with the inevitable roster cuts looming, can either one or all of Jaylen Adams, Luke Maye and Rayjon Tucker show glimpses of promise as they all will likely be integral pieces for the coming G League campaign with the Wisconsin Herd? We’ll just have to wait and see.
