Milwaukee Bucks: 4 key stats from 4-game winning streak
By Adam McGee
34.3. 15.0, 7.3, +17.3
Giannis Antetokounmpo looked hesitant and passive at times as the Bucks stumbled out of the blocks to start the season, but any sense of that has long since dissipated over the past week.
The reigning MVP has taken his play during that spell far beyond the levels that were required of him to win that award last year.
Antetokounmpo is averaging 34.3 points, 15 rebounds, and 7.3 assists across the Bucks’ last four games. That has arrived while playing a measured 32.3 minutes a night, and doesn’t even include mention of his 1.5 blocks or 1.3 steals, let alone his shooting splits of .632/.375/.700.
Giannis also boasts a team-best average plus/minus of +17.3 in that spell, and a net rating of 24.0.
The Bucks’ four-game winning streak has been built on a number of positive elements, and they may well combine to make the Bucks a formidable power for the remainder of the season. The truth, though, is that if Giannis is going to be this dominant from night to night, most opponents won’t even have a chance.
Can the Bucks keep the win streak rolling? To do so, they’ll have to end a drought in Salt Lake City that dates back to 2001-02. On current form, Giannis is very capable of doing just that.
