Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things to watch for in Saturday visit to Indiana Pacers
By Adam McGee
Making some threes
After easily their worst three-point shooting performance of the season against the Bulls on Thursday, the Bucks will be hoping to bounce back with greatly improved efficiency this time out in Indianapolis.
With just six made triples and a percentage of 18.2 against Chicago, not only will the Bucks need to see the three fall with greater regularity against the Pacers, but it’s crucial they remain confident in taking those long-range attempts.
The Bucks attempted just 33 triples against the Bulls, and a season-low 28 in the game before that against the Thunder. For context, the Bucks’ season-high is almost double that mark at 54 against the Heat, and their season average is 41.2.
Without Khris Middleton at the moment, some drop off in terms of both attempts and makes from the Bucks is to be expected, but they need to ensure they keep defenses honest with the long ball, and more generally stick to their own established offensive identity.
Doing so will undoubtedly be a team effort, although if one player is to be singled out, the Bucks would certainly benefit from Brook Lopez regaining form and climbing up from his current 27.9 percent mark from distance.
