Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 115-101 win over Chicago Bulls
Rule of threes
After struggling to light it up from three-point range in their last two contests, the Bucks regained their shooting touch from that level of the floor, especially in the first half. It was the combination of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Sterling Brown and Donte DiVincenzo that really drove that home as Milwaukee went 11-for-25 from beyond the arc through the night’s first two quarters.
Unfortunately, the Bucks’ strong three-point shooting start didn’t carry over into the second half and it ultimately led to them not being able to shake off the Bulls until late in the fourth quarter.
And it was veteran Bucks point guard George Hill who did all of the heavy lifting by supplying three of the Bucks’ four second half triples, all of which cemented his bounce back game after going scoreless the last time out in the Bucks’ win over the Pacers. Hill posted 18 points on nine shots and nearly accounted for half of the Bucks’ 40 bench points.
Overall, it was certainly a positive development to see the Bucks find their shooting touch from long range, even if it was just for two halves. And hopefully with some shooting slumps being corrected over time, as well as with the return of All-Star swingman Khris Middleton, we’ll see it more consistently in a few weeks time.
The Bucks will close out their three-game road trip against a slumping Atlanta Hawks squad Wednesday night for a 6.30 p.m. central time tip-off.
