The Bucks’ winning streak just keep on rolling on, and as this particular train rolls into Memphis on Friday night, Milwaukee will face a notable opportunity to carve out their spot in the franchise record books.
With 16 consecutive wins currently seeing the Bucks tied for second all-time in the franchise’s list of longest win streaks, Friday’s matchup in Memphis will give Mike Budenholzer’s team the opportunity to grab that second spot outright.
If they can do so, the all-time franchise record of 20 wins, which was set in 1970, will then really come into focus for the Bucks, and the opportunity to do something truly remarkable before the calendar year even changes over will be in this team’s grasp.
Of course, none of this is the primary focus or goal for the Bucks this season, and that should remain the case on Friday and beyond.
But for a team whose goal is to emulate the kind of success enjoyed by those early Bucks squads, and the ultimate victory that the franchise experienced in 1971, the ability to carve out the kind of legacy they’re building at present is certainly encouraging.
The Bucks’ clash with the Grizzlies will tip-off from FedExForum at 7pm CT on Friday night.
