Owning the glass

Against a team that starts with both Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis manning the frontcourt, holding your own in the interior becomes even more important than usual in matchups against the Pacers.

Not only did the Bucks hold their own on Sunday, though, but they sent a message to the Pacers by absolutely dominating them in that department.

Milwaukee won the points in the paint battle 48-34, and that was even without Giannis having anything close to his typical scoring effort.

Where Milwaukee’s dominance inside really showed up, though, was on the glass. Certainly aided by the number of opportunities the Pacers’ lackluster shooting afforded them, the Bucks hauled in a season-high 61 rebounds.

That tally meant they out-rebounded Indiana by 13 boards, and it was also fueled by one of the Bucks’ better offensive rebounding night of the season as they corralled 16 boards off the offensive glass.

To beat the Pacers, there are certain things you have to be able to do. On Sunday, the Bucks showed no difficulty in doing any of them.

Next. Bench can continue to make difference throughout season. dark

The Bucks are next in action on Christmas Day when they’ll visit the Philadelphia 76ers for a hotly anticipated matchup.
