Same as it ever was

Throughout the reign of Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer, the story behind most, if not all, of their losses has remained the same: outlier 3-point shooting from Bucks opponents.

Friday night saw the Nuggets do plenty of damage from beyond the arc as they went on to go 22-of-46 from that area of the floor, that being a season-high in both makes and attempts. What’s more is that the Nuggets’ 47.8 3-point percentage is the seventh-highest mark on their season.

With their ability to hit an incredible share of threes at a very high volume, the Nuggets finished their win with all nine players who saw the floor scoring in double figures, all of which was led by a staggering 24-point performance from veteran spark plug Will Barton. Barton also led the squad from 3-point range as he went 6-of-9 from deep for the night.

Budenholzer sought out ways to combat the Nuggets’ hot shooting as it persisted, such as going small and switching defensively. Neither tactic did very little to spark a comeback for the home team and the Bucks are on the fast track to allowing the most opposing 3-pointers made in NBA history as NBA.com’s John Schuhmann pointed out following the loss.

If and when the Bucks lose next, you won’t be surprised by what comes along with it.
