Marvin’s debut
Having racked up a DNP as an unused substitute on Monday night when the Bucks defeated the Kings, it seems all but certain that Marvin Williams will make his Bucks debut in this one.
Williams won’t be fully up to speed with his teammates or the Bucks’ system by any means, but this should give him an opportunity to get his feet wet and get a taste of live action before the All-Star break.
The timing of the midseason interval couldn’t be much better for Williams, as it will undoubtedly give him an extended opportunity to watch film, get acquainted with the Bucks’ playbook, and more generally settle in to what will be his new home base in Milwaukee.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo set to miss this game, Ersan Ilyasova will likely be tasked with slotting into the starting lineup once again, but that should open up meaningful backup minutes for Williams in this game too.
If we don’t see Williams log close to 20 minutes in this one, it will be because Budenholzer is being ultra conservative with integrating his new addition.
