Sterling Brown

There have been some all-important signs of life from Sterling Brown of late, after falling out of the rotation entirely not all that long ago.

Still, given the pressure, and the opportunity, that comes with a contract season, Brown will undoubtedly be disappointed to have regressed in terms of both his performance and his role to this point in the season.

Brown’s defense and rebounding are staples of his game, and have largely held up when he has seen the floor so far this year. It’s Brown’s shooting that has really been problematic, though, and been an obvious factor in his reduced role.

Shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from deep doesn’t cut it when three-point shooting, in particular, has at times looked like a real area of strength and reliability in Brown’s game.

With 37 games played, and an average of 15 minutes per game, Brown hasn’t been frozen out completely. But if he’s going to play a meaningful role in Milwaukee, and secure his NBA future beyond this season, he will need to find some form over the remaining months of the season.
