George Hill

There’s a very strong case to be made for George Hill being the Buck who has most significantly outperformed expectations through to this point in the season.

Hill struggled for most of his first regular season campaign with the Bucks, having arrived from Cleveland via trade in December. Once the postseason lights came on, though, Hill upped his game to entirely new levels to become one of Milwaukee’s most important players.

Hill made 41.7 percent of his triples in the postseason, which was enough for the Bucks to reward him with a new deal in free agency. Now, all these months later, Hill has flown past even that high level with shooting splits of .541/.511/.821.

In addition to being the league leader in three-point percentage, Hill has been an essential steadying presence for Milwaukee with his playmaking and his defense. Strong veteran leadership with Hill was always a given when the Bucks acquired him, but the kind of production he’s offering up approaching 34 has been something to behold.

Now, the hope will be that he gets a clean bill of health when the Bucks resume play following the All-Star break.
