Giannis’ slice of history

Having flagged up on Thursday morning that Giannis Antetokounmpo needed just eight rebounds to climb up to second on the Bucks’ all-time rebounding leaderboard, it took the reigning MVP just eight minutes to actually achieve that feat.

Giannis now only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in that regard, while he also shot clear fo the 4,500 total rebounds mark by amassing an impressive 16 boards on the night.

Overall, it was another typically dominant effort from Antetokounmpo in his first outing in a Bucks’ jersey since the birth of his son.

Giannis took particular joy in going up against his many friends and former teammates now plying their trade in Detroit, most notably Christian Wood, and made sure to offer them all a reminder of what they’re missing out on now that they’re not with the Bucks.

In 32 minutes of action, Giannis racked up 33 points on 13-of-23 shooting, while also picking up four assists and three steals, and finished as a truly absurd +39 in the box score.

Normal service is resumed for both the Bucks and their superstar.
