Locking down the boards

It was a night for season best marks for the Bucks, as not only did Milwaukee finish with the largest margin of victory of their season to date, but they also amassed their most rebounds of any given game this year too.

The Bucks completely owned the glass against the Thunder, grabbing a total of 66 boards on the night, including a very solid 14 offensive rebounds.

This marked the second highest rebounding total since the team’s rebounding was transformed upon Mike Budenholzer’s arrival last season, with only a 71-rebound tally against the Hawks in March 2019 surpassing it during this span.

Giannis undoubtedly led the way on this front, but it was very genuinely an all-around team effort from the Bucks.

Marvin Williams grabbed seven rebounds, there were six each for Wesley Matthews, Donte DiVincenzo, and Sterling Brown, each of Eric Bledsoe, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and George Hill also chipped in with five boards apiece, while Pat Connaughton was just behind with four.

Of course, notably absent from that list is two of the most important players to that overall tally as although the Lopez brothers only combined for two rebounds, their box-out work remained as essential as ever to Milwaukee’s dominance on the glass.
