Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things to watch for in matinee visit to Charlotte Hornets
Like a buzz saw
As has been the case in their previous two meetings, the Hornets will be very overmatched, especially when having to operate on the offensive end against this Bucks team.
Charlotte’s offensive execution and firepower has dulled as the season has gone along and they finished with the worst offensive rating and true shooting percentage of any team in the league for the month of February, per NBA.com/stats. Certainly, Graham’s prolonged shooting slump hasn’t helped matters, but that’s been the case for a Hornets team that has very few adequate shooting threats.
And they’ll be going up against a Bucks’ defense that may be reaching the peak of their powers, as funny as that sounds. Milwaukee tallied a 98.3 defensive rating last month, which was obviously ranked as the best in the league, and the same rang true for their stifling opponent effective field goal percentage (47.2 percent).
In a pace and space NBA that’s launching more threes than ever, those are ridiculous marks for any team, but the Bucks have continued to show they are no ordinary team this year. And their collective defensive steel could make for a long day for the Hornets.
The Bucks’ final meeting with the Charlotte Hornets will tip off at 12 pm central time Sunday afternoon and you can catch the action on Fox Sports Wisconsin or via NBA League Pass for those out of the area.
