Bledsoe’s return

Any trip to the desert for the Bucks will always rehash some feelings for veteran guard Eric Bledsoe and especially for the Suns faithful.

This will be Bledsoe’s third trip back to Phoenix since he was traded to the Bucks a few weeks into the 2017-18 season following his controversial exit from the Suns. Facing off against his former team has certainly brought out Bledsoe’s competitive streak even more than normal and informed his play in those games as well.

In Bledsoe’s first return to Phoenix more than two years ago, a shorthanded Bucks team pulled out a 113-107 double overtime victory on Thanksgiving eve and Bledsoe dropped 30 points on 11-of-26 shooting from the field, along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Last season, the Suns gave the Bucks a rare second consecutive loss back on March 4, 2019 in a 114-105 defeat for the Bucks and Bledsoe endured far greater struggles with 15 points on 15 shots, including going 0-for-6 from deep as well as five rebounds and five assists.

We’re not strangers to seeing highly competitive players look to prove something against their former teams and Bledsoe is certainly among that crew. Whether that will result in a productive outing for Bledsoe against his former home remains to be seen, but the Phoenix crowd certainly won’t make him feel at home like they once did.

The Bucks’ road clash with the Phoenix Suns will tip off at 5 p.m. central time.
