Milwaukee Bucks: 3 players who have improved the most this season
By Adam McGee
Donte DiVincenzo
When it comes to weighing up improvement among Bucks players, Donte DiVincenzo is certainly the player who stands out more than most.
It’s certainly possible to debate whether DiVincenzo is the Bucks’ most improved player this year, but what is indisputable is he’s the player who’s improvement has been most apparent.
That comes from the fact that DiVincenzo’s growth came from a particularly low base as he struggled as a rookie in a season that was also significantly curtailed by injury.
This year, though, DiVincenzo has emerged as one of the most important cogs in the Bucks’ rotation, and one of the team’s most consistent two-way performers.
The strides that DiVincenzo has taken on the offensive side of the ball have been most striking of late, with Donte emerging as one of the team’s real stars in a challenging final few games before the NBA season was suspended.
DiVincenzo still has room for further growth. His three-point shooting is approaching respectability at 34.4 percent, but his overall potential could still be transformed if that number was to come closer to the 40 percent mark at a more consistent rate.
As it is, though, DiVincenzo’s high IQ, reliable intensity, and developing feel for the game on both ends has seen him take a major leap. Expect him to now be a central piece of the Bucks’ plans for many years to come.
