Strengths

Above all else, Jones brings a level of stability running the offense as a lead ball handler or general table setter at the point guard position.

Jones’ potential as a reliable floor general was certainly on display over the course of his sophomore campaign and along with the increased role he had in directing Duke’s offense, as evidenced by his 24 usage percentage, Jones accumulated a 2.37 assist-to-turnover ratio this year and a 2.87 assist-to-turnover ratio over his collegiate career.

Along with that, Jones ranked second in points produced per game in the ACC this season by averaging 17.7 points, signaling his propensity to get his teammates involved in the offense both in the halfcourt as well as the open floor and find open shooters on a regular basis.

Despite his small stature, Jones is an incredibly hard working and active defender and it all starts with how he’s able to disrupt plays or his assignment at the point of attack. That’s thanks to his foot speed, instincts and strong defensive technique that can be seen in how he’s able to cleanly maneuver around screens and continue to hustle even when the play goes beyond him.

Jones’ ability to disrupt the opposing offense even translates off the ball as his anticipation and 6’4″ wingspan help him get into passing lanes and make action plays in that regard as well.
