5. Fri. Dec. 6, Milwaukee Bucks vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Bucks’ 119-91 shellacking of the LA Clippers may have been the Bucks’ coming out party this year. Despite Milwaukee’s dominant play to begin the season, and the league’s best record, the talk was still about the LA teams. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Which team was going to win it all? No mention of Milwaukee.

This night was the night Milwaukee pummeled their way into the national conversation. Although the national media downplays any game the Bucks win, they can’t say it didn’t happen.

This was the second matchup against the Clippers, but the first matchup with both Leonard and George in the lineup. It was a “prove it” game for Milwaukee, and man, they definitely proved it.

Milwaukee’s defense showed that they were a force to be reckoned with. Their staunch defensive effort kept the Clippers out of rhythm all night, and held the highly-touted duo of George and Leonard to only 30 points combined.

The 35 percent the Clippers shot from the field that night was and still is a season-low for them. If they hadn’t yet realized the Bucks were for real, they certainly did after that game.
