In our latest look at the 2020 NBA Draft class, we explore the game of Vanderbilt sophomore wing, Aaron Nesmith.

As the 2020 NBA Draft is gradually starting to take shape with the number of prospects throwing their hat in the ring, Aaron Nesmith stands out in his own way.

Thanks to an incredibly lethal run throughout his sophomore season at Vanderbilt University, Nemsith has shot up to first round territory by filling it up and standing as the Commodores’ leading scorer under head coach and former NBA player, Jerry Stackhouse.

As he recently told Evan Daniels of 24/7 Sports, the 20-year-old spoke his sopomore leap into existence by diligently working on improving his incredibly dynamic shooting ability all throughout last summer:

"“Last year I didn’t shoot the ball as well as I wanted to,” he said. “…this summer I told everybody that I would be the best shooter in college basketball, just watch me and I came out and did it.”"

Unfortunately for Nesmith, his incredibly bright 2019-20 campaign was cut short on January 11 earlier this year as a result of a fractured right foot. Despite that, Nesmith is taking the next step in his career after having declared for the draft last week.

Throughout his 14 appearances in his shortened sophomore season, Nesmith averaged 23 points on a .512/.522/.825 shooting splits, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 0.9 assists across 35.7 minutes per contest.

So without further ado, let’s dive deep into the strengths and weaknesses of Nesmith’s skill set, where draft experts currently rate him and examine his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
