Steve Novak

Steve Novak‘s Bucks appearances were certainly few and very far between.

Known for his incredible sharpshooting, which had helped him find a place in the NBA for more than a decade, the Brown Deer native came to the Bucks midway through the 2015-16 season to give the team a shooting presence. It was truly a full circle moment for Novak as he also played at the Bradley Center during his days at Marquette University.

But almost immediately upon signing with the Bucks after he was waived by the Denver Nuggets in a deadline deal, Novak suffered a sprained left MCL that ruled him out for the remainder of the 15-16 year. He re-signed with the Bucks in the summer but failed to finish out the 2016-17 season with them and subsequently retired following the 2016-17 season.

Over his 11 total appearances with the Bucks, Novak scored a total of 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting (3-for-12 from 3-point range) and pulled down four rebounds across a mere 42 minutes of action.

While Novak’s run with his hometown team was short-lived, you can still hear him on Bucks broadcasts on Fox Sports Wisconsin, whether it’s before or after games and occasionally providing color commentary with the venerable Jim Paschke.
