Our latest look at the 2020 NBA Draft revolves around Arizona freshman wing, Josh Green, and explores whether he’s an ideal fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Josh Green is slated to bring some international flavor to this 2020 NBA Draft and maybe even the Milwaukee Bucks.
Having just declared for the draft before the Easter weekend, Green certainly brings a unique upbringing compared to most other draft prospects, having grown up in his native Australia and playing a variety of sports such as Australian Rules Football, rugby, soccer and swimming. All while coming from a basketball pedigree as his parents, Cahla and Delmas, both played professional basketball in Australia.

In the end, it was basketball that stuck for Green and a move to Phoenix, Arizona subsequently helped Green become a five-star prospect on the high school circuit and a standout star at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for his junior and senior seasons.
With plenty of top-rated schools hot on his recruiting trail such as Kansas, North Carolina and Villanova, among others, Green stayed close to home to play for the University of Arizona under head coach Sean Miller for what ended up being his lone collegiate season.
Between his humble beginnings in Australia and subsequent rise in American basketball stardrom, Green has seen everything there is to offer that comes with a whole legion of fans and followers watching his development worldwide. And as he told Olgun Uluc of Fox Sports Australia in light of his decision to declare for the draft, he feels every step in his basketball journey has distinctly made him the projected first-round pick he is today:
"“I think everything I’ve done leading up to this has helped me be the player I am today,” Green told foxsports.com.au, on his decision to declare for the draft. “It’s the whole run up. I’ve been living by myself, moving from Australia, had a lot of experiences with bigger stages, getting myself in situations that may seem uncomfortable; moving to the other side of the world. “I think my time at Arizona – everywhere you go has its ups and downs – at the end of the day, prepared me for the NBA. At the same time, I feel like I do have more to learn, but I feel like I’ll be able to learn that in the NBA.”"
Now Green stands to become a part of the growing contingent of Australian-born players that have made the NBA, and basketball as a whole, a very international sport.
In his 30 appearances with the Wildcats, Green averaged 12 points on a .424/.361/.780 slash line, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals across 30.9 minutes per contest.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the game of Josh Green by exploring his strengths and weaknesses, how draft experts currently rate him and whether he could fit within the Milwaukee Bucks’ system.
