Some of the biggest questions surrounding Maledon’s game lie in his natural gifts, most notably in his ability to burst by opposing guards.

That certainly shows up when looking to finish at the cup, which will be key regardless of any role he will fill in the NBA. Maledon’s lack of explosion goes beyond just speeding past opposing defenders as he is forced to rely on a good amount of craft and touch shots to convert what become tough finishes at the rim.

The same rings true of his potential to cover opposing guards that have blazing speed, even though Maledon has physcial advantages to overcome that concern with his length and size.

But improving upon his wiry frame also looms large in that regard as he looks to absorb contact when taking on rim protecting big men in the NBA. At the same time, Maledon’s physical maturation will be of the utmost importance throughout his early NBA career.

With those worries and just trying to iron out the finer details regarding his defensive technique, etc., that’s where Maledon’s youth and raw abilities will have to be honed in on as he takes the next step in his career.
