Milwaukee Bucks: Tyrell Terry stands as skilled NBA Draft guard prospect
Weaknesses
It’s clear what the biggest area Terry needs to work on whenever he does entering the NBA.
Terry’s incredibly undersized at 6’2″ and that’s only exacerbated by his weight, which tops out at 160 pounds. While it’s unknown what his wingspan tops out at, Terry’s physical profile is far from an NBA scout’s dream.
There are the very obvious defensive concerns where Terry’s scrawny frame will very likely be exploited, both in the regular season and high-level matchups in the postseason, should he land with a playoff team. The same goes for being able to withstand the physicality and absorbing the contact of NBA-level rim protectors as well as tenacious perimeter defenders on a nightly basis.
That latter point is huge in Terry’s ability to run an offense and take on lead ball-handling duties right away at the next level. Struggling to make plays or reads on the move played a big part in why he tallied a 1.20 assist-to-turnover ratio this year.
For those reasons, as well as just getting more repetitions as a playmaker, Terry’s development will be key in whatever role he eventually carves out in the league.
