Milwaukee Bucks: 3 things Donte DiVincenzo needs to take the next step: – Playmaking

Whether DiVincenzo’s ball handling abilities will translate into taking on more playmaking duties in the future is a big question for the former Wildcat.

With his blend of smarts, vision and precision, DiVincenzo has proven he can make plays on the move and within the flow of the Bucks’ offense this year and it’s informed the 1.88 assist-to-turnover ratio he’s logged as a result.

Given how the Bucks’ read-and-react offense is constructed under Budenholzer, all five players on the floor often get touches and especially in bench-heavy lineups, which DiVincenzo is regularly included in. And that’s where DiVincenzo’s ability to make plays with the ball in his hands has increasingly grown as he’s taken more prominence within the Bucks’ rotation.

DiVincenzo’s potential responsibilities certainly won’t grow to the level of the Bucks’ core stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe, and Khris Middleton, but being able to make the kinds of reads and plays that he regularly does only enhances the team’s multi-dimensional attack.

Hopefully, we’ll see DiVincenzo’s play continue to trend upwards in the event that the 2019-20 season does resume in some capacity very soon.
