Milwaukee Bucks: Best players to never make an All-Star appearance – Andrew Bogut
Andrew Bogut’s eight-year stint with the Bucks was far from a joyous time and was largely starved of success.
The first overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Bogut’s time was largely marred by injuries, instability and the Bucks’ struggles to put forth a sustainable blueprint for success. Of course, the 2009-10 season stands as the lone exception to that statement.
That year also doubled as Bogut’s peak season both in Milwaukee and his 14-year NBA career overall as he went on to average a double-double (15.9 points, 10.9 rebounds), 2.5 blocks and 1.8 assists over his 69 appearances on the year.
Despite standing as the Bucks’ centralizing force on both ends of the floor, Bogut didn’t even do so much as flirt with being considered for that year’s All-Star Game in Dallas. But Bogut’s supporting role and the fact that the Bucks were 24-27 heading into the break didn’t help matters.
It was in the final two months of that season when the Bucks went on their surge and Bogut, of course, went on to suffer a career-altering injury that hindered the remainder of the Australian’s time in Milwaukee.
