Milwaukee Bucks: 4 replacement players they could look to from Wisconsin Herd – D.J. Hogg
Going back to a more traditional role player in the vein of what the Bucks have valued, D.J. Hogg is a solid, no frills floor spacing forward that could give the Bucks some more shooting at either forward spot.
During his 42 appearances with the Herd this year, Hogg averaged 11.1 points while shooting 39.7 percent from three on 184 attempts from that range. The former Aggie’s knockdown shooting ability and proficiency to hit from above the break, where he hit 37.7 percent of his shots from that spot on the floor, is certainly right in the Bucks’ wheelhouse.
Beyond Hogg’s outside shooting, he’s developed into a solid threat when attacking closeouts and converted 65.4 percent of his scoring opportunities within the restricted area.
On the other side of the ball, Hogg does offer some appealing rim protection, thanks to his strong awareness in help situations, length and solid vertical athleticism, and he averaged 1.6 blocks per 36 minutes this season with the Herd.
Hogg’s role as a 3-and-D forward is already well covered on the Bucks’ depth chart as we previously touched on, but with the incremental strides he’s made in his game while in Oshkosh this year, that could make him a nice emergency option.
