Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting D.J. Wilson’s 2019-20 season so far – One question moving forward
The big question for Wilson is a glaringly obvious one: How much will he play in Orlando, if at all?
With the Bucks needing just one win or one Raptors loss to secure top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, it remains to be seen what kind of approach Milwaukee takes for the remaining regular season contests.
Under normal circumstances, that would seem like a perfect opportunity for Wilson to soak up extensive minutes as Milwaukee’s stars get some rest, perhaps allowing him to make a late case for a spot in the postseason rotation.
In the strange reality of the NBA in 2019-20, though, those games may prove even more important for the Bucks’ most high profile and integral players as they try to regain game sharpness before the playoffs begin.
Of course, there’s always a possibility that a situation could arise where Wilson needs to be called upon, so the 24-year-old will need to stay ready and locked in.
If the chance to play does come along for Wilson, the Bucks will need him to be at his best, and he’ll need to make a real impression for the sake of his long-term future in Milwaukee, and the NBA more generally.
