Milwaukee Bucks: Revisiting George Hill’s 2019-20 season so far – Where Hill left off

When the season came to a grinding halt back in March, George Hill was enjoying one of the best seasons of his career, at least relative to the role he was being asked to play.

Having knocked down 48 percent of his 152 triple attempts for the season, Hill leads the entire NBA in three-point percentage heading into the restart. For a Bucks team where spacing is crucial to their success, Hill’s deadeye efficiency from distance is worth more than its fair share in gold.

What’s crucial to highlight about Hill is that his production this season has stretched far beyond his shooting.

Hill has been incredibly efficient with his playmaking, boasting an assist to turnover ratio of 3.08 that suitably highlights just the overall reliability of the veteran’s contributions.

Stretching further beyond that, Hill’s defense also remains top tier with his length and versatility making him a seamless fit in a variety of the Bucks’ most formidable defensive lineups.

All of this combines to make Hill a no-brainer contender for the league’s Sixth Man of the Year award, although the historic emphasis on scoring in that context may well work against Hill’s excellent all-around play.
