Player grades from Milwaukee Bucks’ 136-132 loss to Dallas Mavericks – Opponent

Western Conference. 42-30. DALLAS MAVERICKS. A. The Dallas Mavericks have rapidly become one of the NBA’s scarier teams as Luka Doncic has continued to come into his own, and Kristaps Porzingis has returned to something resembling his pre-injury performance levels. Based on the evidence the Bucks saw on Saturday night, the Mavericks could yet provide a nightmare first round matchup for the Clippers. Doncic wasn’t just brilliant with his breathtaking line of 36 points, 19 assists, and 14 rebounds, but he completely controlled the game in a way that almost nobody else in the league is capable of. This wasn’t just the best individual performance the Bucks have come up against in Orlando, but the best they’ve seen this season too. Beyond Doncic, the Mavericks deserve a lot of credit for how they stuck around and forced overtime in the first place, with Porzingis and Dorian Finney-Smith putting in particularly strong supporting efforts. An excellent performance and win for Dallas, and further evidence that they’re a team who could make a lot of noise in the playoffs.
