Milwaukee Bucks: Analyzing a potentially shorter playoff rotation – George Hill: Play

Undisputably, the easiest bench decision is keeping George Hill in the lineup.

In fact, a key perk of shortening the playoff rotation would be allowing him to play even more. Hill provides the Bucks with everything they could ask for in a bench piece. He’s been one of the best 3-point shooters league-wide this season (whether it be pull-ups or off the catch; above the break or in the corner), he has plenty of playoff experience, and he’s been very consistent over the past calendar year (he ranked in the top 89th percentile in terms of Basketball Index‘s Gameplay Consistency stat).

In the playoffs thus far, Hill is making 62.5 percent of his spot-up jumpers and 42.9 percent of his 3-pointers (per Synergy). He’s a great half-court option who can slot in at either guard position while holding his own on the defensive end. He’s efficient, proven and versatile; and he should be the main cog off the bench for the Bucks as the playoffs continue.
