Milwaukee Bucks: Player grades from 118-104 Game 5 win over Orlando Magic

By no means was this Eric Bledsoe’s most aggressive effort when it comes to scoring, as the Bucks’ point guard finished with 10 point on just 3-of-7 shooting from the field. But otherwise this was very much a stellar showing from the 30-year-old, who dished out eight assists to two turnovers, and ultimately finished as a +26 in the box score. On the whole, this has been a good first round for Bledsoe, and the fact that he won’t be the main storyline going into round two is likely a positive in its own right.. Guard. Milwaukee Bucks. WESLEY MATTHEWS. D. Wesley Matthews has enjoyed an excellent first round series, so when he knocked down an early triple, it seemed safe to assume plenty more were to come. That very much turned out not to be the case, though, as Matthews went on to finish a horrid 1-of-9 overall, and 1-of-7 from deep. The Bucks will hope it was just an off night for Matthews, but it can’t be ignored just how wayward so many of his shots were on this occasion. A strange game for the usually ever-reliable veteran.. Milwaukee Bucks. KHRIS MIDDLETON. B+. A very encouraging performance from Khris Middleton, as he pulled the strings in many key departments and put in an impressive overall stat-line by the time the night was done. The Bucks would certainly have liked Middleton to be a little more aggressive during the spell late in the third quarter when Giannis was in foul trouble, but given how he started this series, this was certainly a positive way to finish it. With 21 points in his 34 minutes, Middleton also added in 10 rebounds, and seven assists, with only two turnovers countering that on the negative side of the scale.. Forward

GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO. A-. Another brilliant performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo, albeit one that was somewhat marred by foul trouble. The Magic were a little flop-happy in Game 5, and D.J. Augustin certainly got Giannis called for one offensive foul that would have been overturned with a challenge. But when Giannis was on the court, he was as dominant as ever. Antetokounmpo’s 28 points came on an efficient 11-of-17 shooting effort, while he also ruled the glass with 17 rebounds. If he can maintain that kind of effectiveness against the Heat, the Bucks will be in a very strong position.. Forward. Milwaukee Bucks

B+. Brook Lopez’s three-point shot wasn’t quite locked in, but he had a strong and productive scoring effort otherwise. With Nikola Vucevic having a particularly inefficient game, it’s safe to say this was one of Brook’s better two-way efforts of the series. Brook scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting, with just 1-of-4 from deep, while he also grabbed seven rebounds beyond his usual stellar boxout efforts too.. Center. Milwaukee Bucks. BROOK LOPEZ
