Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 103-94 Game 5 loss to Miami Heat – The Bledshow goes off the air

With the Bucks needing all of the help they can get, especially without their leading superstar, anything out of Eric Bledsoe would have helped the challenging task at hand. And it’s when the Bucks need Bledsoe the most that he ends up burning them the most.

Bledsoe finished with nine points on 2-for-12 shooting from the field (1-for-4 from three, 4-of-6 from the foul line), nine assists, two rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 36 minutes on the court.

Defensively, Bledsoe played up to expectations as he was incredibly active getting into passing lanes and did his best to harass Heat ball handlers at the point of attack as he often does.

But Bledsoe’s work on the offensive end was another story entirely. It took until the 9:45 mark of the third quarter for Bledsoe to convert the first of his two field goals on the night and the lack of discipline he continues to show in his shot selection, both where and when he’s taking them in the shot clock, remains baffling.

When combined with his last three years of playoff struggles, Bledsoe certainly stands in rare company when it comes missing from the 3-point line on the volume he’s compiled over the last few years.

When it has mattered most in each of the last three years, Bledsoe has offered very little to no support in the Bucks’ playoff runs. It’s an inescapable reality and Bledsoe’s future in Milwaukee will be a hot topic of speculation over the course of the offseason.
