Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for Donte DiVincenzo next season – Improve 3-point shooting
Continuing with the theme of Donte DiVincenzo’s improvement from year one to year two, his 3-point shooting also made a significant leap. Jumping from 26.5 percent in his rookie season to 33.6 percent this year, that profound increase was a welcoming surprise for the Milwaukee Bucks.
After attempting 83 shots from behind the arc last season, DiVincenzo embraced Mike Budenholzer’s “let it fly” mentality by launching 247 attempts this season. Of course, he played in just 24 games last season and 66 this year, but improving that shot once again ahead of year three will be crucial for the 23-year-old.
In terms of 3-point percentage, DiVincenzo’s averages were all over the place monthly throughout this season. In December, the guard connected on a vile 27.3 percent of his shots from behind the arc but followed that up with a 39.1 percent total for the month of January, any consistency nowhere to be found. More on Donte’s overall offensive inconsistencies in a minute.
Strictly on the subject of 3-point shooting, there is undoubtedly room for improvement for the second-year guard. As he did in his first two seasons, seeing another noteworthy increase in percentage would be fantastic. Trying to get that percentage from deep closer to 40 than 30 would be a remarkable goal for DiVincenzo to target heading into his third NBA season.
