Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for Donte DiVincenzo next season – Find consistency offensively

Donte DiVincenzo’s inconsistency on the offensive end might be the biggest hole in his game. Each night that he checked in for the Milwaukee Bucks, it was feasible to believe he was either going to have a career night or a subpar outing offensively.

This inconsistency on offense was on full display in the Bucks’ second-round matchup against the Miami Heat. After scoring just a single point in the first two games, DiVincenzo reeled off three straight outings with double-digit scoring, including a 17-point effort in a Game 5 defeat.

Moving forward, the guard should focus on finding a consistent balance. Not every night can be a player’s night, but with Donte, it is typically hot or cold, rarely in between. The Milwaukee Bucks will undoubtedly look to give DiVincenzo a more dignified role offensively as time progresses, and although his game does not solely revolve around scoring, it only makes him that much more lethal.

DiVincenzo increased his per-game scoring average from 4.9 to 9.2 in his first two seasons, so it is not far-fetched at all to say getting into that double-figure range is achievable. If he could check in nightly with an improved scoring punch along with already top-notch prowess on defense, there is no reason to doubt that DiVincenzo could be one of the premier sixth men in the league.

Overall, there is not much to complain about with Donte DiVincenzo after a stellar sophomore season. Although his showing in the NBA’s restart was uninspiring, it only sets him up for a strong comeback next season. If he can improve a few facets of his game here and there, the sky is the limit for this young guard.
