Milwaukee Bucks: 5 free agents to target with veteran minimum – Glenn Robinson III
Most fans will remember former No. 1 overall pick Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks. Now, his son, Glenn Robinson III, is making his way around the NBA, and the Bucks should give him a call.
Robinson started the year off with the Golden State Warriors before being shipped off to the Philadelphia 76ers midseason and put together a career-year. In 62 games between the two franchises, the forward averaged 11.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on .486/.391/.860 shooting splits.
Milwaukee’s wing depth is in question as the offseason approaches, with a significant chunk of their rotational players set to hit free agency. If they lose Wesley Matthews, Kyle Korver, Pat Connaughton, or whoever else, Robinson could be a suitable replacement.
His 39.1 percent 3-point shooting fits the bill of what the Bucks need and will likely be in their price range. Diving deeper, per NBA Advanced Stats, Robinson shot 39.9 percent on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers on the season. That type of scoring punch on the perimeter would be a perfect match for the Bucks offensively.
Although he is not the most upstanding defender, Robinson’s 6’6″ frame makes him versatile as they come. If the 26-year-old is searching for a new home this offseason, the Bucks should be among the suitors.
