Milwaukee Bucks: To buy or sell on Sterling Brown in free agency – What to buy

Sterling Brown’s corner 3-point shooting is undoubtedly the most striking characteristic in his game and could earn him a pay raise in free agency. For a Milwaukee team that thrives off the success of their floor spacers, Brown proved serviceable, but streaky, when he saw action.

Coming off a career-best 36.1 percent 3-point shooting for the 2018-19 season, Brown regressed to just 32.4 percent this year. Although his overall number dipped tremendously, Brown found the most success when he spotted up in either corner.

Per nba.com/stats, the left corner was his forte as he went 13-for-29 on the season, an outstanding 44.8 percent. Although a smaller sample size, the right corner was also a sweet spot for Brown, going 7-of-19 and a for a figure of 36.8 percent. Shooting 40.8 percent from the corners overall, that type of shooting prowess is welcoming for the “let it fly” minded Milwaukee Bucks.

Brown is also an exceptional defender, making it a rough night for opponents whenever he checks in. Having the ability to guard multiple positions sufficiently, Brown is as versatile a defender as they come, and with his electric corner 3-point shooting to go along with it, the guard carved out a nice role as a 3-and-D wing.

At just 25-years-old, the former second-round draft choice has plenty of room to grow as well.
