Milwaukee Bucks: 3 players who might not return next season – Sterling Brown

After spending the first three seasons of his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, Sterling Brown will enter restricted free agency this offseason. Given how Sterling’s season transpired, it might not be too far-fetched to believe he has played his last game with the Bucks.

Following a career-year in 2018-19, Brown’s production decreased across the board in his contract year this season. Playing 14.8 minutes per game across 52 contests season, the 25-year-old averaged 5.1 points with .371/.324/.800 shooting splits, in addition to his 3.5 rebounds and an assist.

On top of that, Brown was also unplayable in the postseason, playing just one total minute across Milwaukee’s 10 game run. Needless to say, the guard did not exactly guarantee himself a hefty pay raise in free agency, at least from the Bucks.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported that several teams were interested in the guard around the latest trade deadline. If that interest carries over into the offseason, Brown could be a useful addition to a team that would utilize his services.

Having the third oldest roster in the league this season, Milwaukee will likely favor retaining veterans Wesley Matthews, Kyle Korver, and Pat Connaughton at the position, making Brown the odd man out. While Milwaukee has the power to keep the restricted free agent, it would be hard to envision that they take that route, given his decreasing role as the season progressed.
