Milwaukee Bucks: 3 possible trade targets from Southeast Division – Terry Rozier III, Charlotte Hornets

As the Milwaukee Bucks look to find an Eric Bledsoe replacement at point guard, Terry Rozier is surely an oddball name to throw into the mix. Unfortunately, many remember that Rozier outplayed Bledsoe in Milwaukee’s 2018 first round series against the Boston Celtics, leading to some fans holding hard feelings against him.

However, the guard is coming off a career year with the Charlotte Hornets and could be an intriguing target because of it. The 26-year-old averaged 18.0 points with a .423/.407/.874 slash line, 4.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game in his first season with the Hornets, undoubtedly boasting some compelling numbers.

The Bucks are in the hunt for playmaking and shooting this offseason, two areas where Rozier excelled. His 4.1 assists per game were lower than that of Bledsoe, but his 40.7 percent shooting from behind the arc was substantially better than Milwaukee’s current floor general. Rozier is also a pesky defender, his ability to force turnovers on that end of the floor on display throughout this season.

Set to make $36.8 million over the next two seasons, Rozier does not come cheap but could be an avenue that the Bucks look to explore this offseason. Whether the Hornets would entertain their Rozier in trade talks or not remains to be seen, especially as they hold the third overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, but the Bucks should check in at the very least.
