Milwaukee Bucks: 3 potential Eric Bledsoe trade scenarios – No. 3, Bucks reconsider their stance on Chris Paul

Chris Paul has been a recurring name mentioned in trade speculation for the Bucks since their season ended, and he could solve their issues at the point guard position.

However, ownership has been adamant about shutting down any rumors involving the 35-year-old to this point, and Zach Lowe recently reiterated that there have not been any talks involving him to this point. If they reconsider their stance, a deal like this could be sufficient for both parties.

Milwaukee’s most prominent flaw is the point guard position, and Paul is one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, Paul completes a top-heavy All-Star trio, arguably the best within the Eastern Conference, if not the association entirely. The Bucks gut a portion of their rotational depth to pull off the blockbuster, but it is necessary given Paul’s $85 million salary over the next two seasons. Still, it could unquestionably be worth it as they enter a do-or-die championship run in 2020-21.

For the Oklahoma City Thunder, they appear to be trending in the opposite direction. Shipping out Paul kicks off their inevitable rebuild, adding another first round pick to add to their ever-growing pile of draft capital. On top of that, Bledsoe and George Hill could be great veteran presences next to the ascending Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as two established guards. At the same time, Robin Lopez and D.J. Wilson could be serviceable rotational pieces who are relatively cheap.

It remains to be seen whether the Bucks will re-evaluate their stance on the future Hall of Fame point guard, but all options should be on the table ahead of next season.
