Giannis Antetokounmpo: 3 shooters to pair with the MVP in free agency – Kyle Korver
One of the most prolific shooters to ever play the game, Kyle Korver’s fit with the Bucks this season was plain to see. His ability to hit the long ball made him a seamless fit next to Antetokounmpo and his familiarity with Mike Budenholzer made him a nice plug-and-play piece within their rotation.
Per NBA.com/stats, 448 of Korver’s 960 minutes for the 2019-20 season came with Antetokounmpo on the floor, the highest mark that Korver spent with any Bucks player. And finishing the year by shooting 41.8 percent from three, the second-highest mark on the squad behind the league-leading George Hill, Korver’s floor spacing and marksmanship makes him a natural fit to someone of Antetokounmpo’s capabilities.
While bringing Korver back for another season makes sense for the Bucks, they might not get the chance. After Milwaukee’s season ended, the 39-year-old Korver told The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears that he would discuss the possibility of retirement with his family after 17 seasons in the NBA.
A decision will likely be coming soon, given the fact that the 2020-21 season starts in nearly a month, and if Korver decides he still has some left to give, the Bucks should look to bring him back.
