Milwaukee Bucks 2020 NBA Draft: 4 prospects who could have immediate impact
If the Milwaukee Bucks end up using the 24th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, they’ll surely value a prospect who can contribute straight away next season.
The 2020 NBA Draft is now three days away and the Milwaukee Bucks have quite a decision on their hands.
Holding the 24th overall pick, their lone selection in this draft, the Bucks are operating as if there is no time like the present, given the questions revolving around the long-term future of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. And it’s rightly justified for those reasons and more.

As it relates to who they can target through the draft, the Bucks are obviously in a position where they have a choice of prospects who don’t have the glamour of upside to that of lottery picks.
But being able to select a player that can walk right into the Bucks’ rotation, given where they are in their timeline, is much more beneficial with literally everything at stake for the franchise.
With that in mind, let’s look at four prospects that can offer immediate help for the Bucks with the 24th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Desmond Bane
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite sleeper draft prospect in this year’s class, Desmond Bane.
It doesn’t take long to understand why Bane has steadily risen as the pre-draft process has gone on, given the nature of his complementary and versatile skill set. The body of work that Bane put together at TCU over the last four years has reinforced the plug-and-play nature that has been bandied about by draft experts as Bane enters the NBA level.
From a Bucks perspective, adding a shooter of Bane’s caliber would do wonders for a team that needs more efficiency in that regard after being a 43.3 percent 3-point shooter during his time in college. On top of that, Bane’s ability to handle and initiate a team’s offense would make a for a natural fit in Milwaukee where they can never have enough creators on the floor for their read-and-react system.
Virtually every team around the league has talked with the 22-year-old, including the Bucks. But Milwaukee’s interest in Bane is very real as his agent revealed to him that the Bucks are among the three teams that have shown the most interest in him, along with the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers.
Whether Bane will be there at 24 for the Bucks is the ultimate question, but that would be provided a big name ends up falling ahead of where he’s been generally projected in the draft.
