Milwaukee Bucks: 3 goals for D.J. Augustin in 2020-21 season

Goal No. 1 – Enjoy a shooting resurgence
Floor spacing is something that the Bucks rely on heavily, and they will be reliant on D.J. Augustin to regain his shooting stroke after a down year this past season.
In the two seasons preceding his 2019-20 campaign, D.J. Augustin was shooting lights out from behind the arc. Having heaved 583 attempts from behind the arc combined, Augustin connected on 245 of them, a stellar 42.0 percent.
However, Augustin regressed significantly from behind the arc in 57 games this season, having shot 70-for-201, a subpar 34.8 percent. Per NBA.com/stats, Augustin’s percentages from distance varied depending on the type of shot. For reference, the guard connected on just 33 of his 112 attempts on pull-up 3-pointers, a lackluster 29.5 percent. Simultaneously, he was solid on catch-and-shoot triples, having scored on 33-of-89 attempts, which translated to 41.6 percent.
Wherever Augustin is on the floor and however he shoots them, a rejuvenated stroke from behind the arc would be a substantial boost for the Bucks this season. He showed in previous seasons that he can shoot it at a high level, but only time will tell if the guard can get back on track with the Bucks.
The guard’s floor spacing is among his strongest qualities, and Milwaukee will undoubtedly give him the green light from downtown to help him find a rhythm once again.
