The case for a James Harden trade to the Milwaukee Bucks
When it comes to talent, there is no questioning what Harden brings to the table. With a resume consisting of former league MVP honors, three scoring titles, eight All-Star nominations, and many more achievements, Harden is one of the league’s elites players today.
Pairing a player of that caliber alongside Antetokounmpo has to be enticing enough to the Bucks to give it some thought. Sure, Harden and Antetokounmpo have had their share of verbal sparring throughout the years, but these are two players who have shared their mutual desire to win at the highest level above all else.
Both players are searching for their first championship, and if they could put their differences behind them, they could unquestionably pursue that goal together in Milwaukee. Harden and Giannis would form one of the most prolific duos in the league today, the only one that would currently consist of two former league MVP winners.
If the Bucks made a move, they would also get some assurance with Harden’s future, as he is under contract for the next two seasons and holds a player option for the third. With Antetokounmpo locked in as well, this would be a star-studded tandem that could compete for a title side-by-side for years to come.
Could it also help make Milwaukee an attractive free agent destination in the process?
Harden is not going to eradicate the numbing Wisconsin winters anytime soon, but he would help form a duo that this franchise has not seen anything close to in nearly fifty years when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson were running the show.
Being a small-market, it is no secret that the Bucks have had a challenging time trying to entice free agents to Milwaukee throughout the years. However, playing alongside Antetokounmpo and Harden, who have won the last three MVP awards, certainly sounds like it would be a compelling pitch for players searching for a home.
