Goal no. 2 – Improve upon shooting abilities

Of course, the biggest key for Antetokounmpo that will help him earn consistent minutes under Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer is showing himself to be a shooting threat,

Over his various stops overseas as well as his time in the G League and in the NBA, Antetokounmpo hasn’t even been a passable shooter. In his limited minutes with the Bucks and on assignment in the G League, Antetokounmpo was 0-for-16 from three combined. As a sidenote, he’s still looking to hit his first triple over his brief NBA minutes.

It’s not just the small sample size that is damning. Antetokounmpo’s historical free throw shooting struggles certainly point to how great of a deficiency it is in his game. Over his time in the G League, Antetokounmpo has shot 64 percent on 580 free throw attempts and 68.3 percent on 218 attempts from the line during his stints with Andorra in Spain and Panathiniakos in Greece.

While Antetokounmpo’s shooting skills are lacking, the unwillingness to let it fly consistently may prove to be the biggest obstacle in trying to address his abilities. The debilitating effect of how it shrinks the floor for the Bucks is quite the hindrance to his use out on the floor.
