The Milwaukee Bucks will have to defend the 3-point line against the Heat

There’s no question that the biggest issue the Bucks will face against the Heat will be defending their lethal 3-point shooting.

All Bucks fans are acutely aware of the damage that the Heat have done to Milwaukee last season, whether it was in their season series or the Conference Semifinals series that saw Miami dismantle the Bucks on both sides of the ball.

In the three games they faced against each other during the 2019-20 season, Miami shot 43.3 percent from downtown. The Heat’s 3-point percentage dipped down to 37.3 percent from three in that five-game series in the Conference Semifinals, but it was more than enough in comparison to the Bucks’ offensive woes.

Having a player of Duncan Robinson’s abilities and shooting prowess alone is enough to break opposing defenses, but the fact that the Heat had as many capable willing shooters such as Jae Crowder, Goran Dragic and Tyler Herro made life miserable for the Bucks.

Now this Heat team is different than they were last year, with Crowder being the biggest loss they experienced during the offseason. But as they showed in their win over the Pelicans, a game in which they went 16-for-37 from beyond the arc, the Heat’s firepower still remain very much intact.

And given that the Bucks have defended the 3-point line to the same degree as they always have over the Budenholzer, Bucks fans should be prepared to batten down the hatches for a Miami 3-point party.
